Kid-friendly Dessert Recipes

If there’s one thing the kids will never say no to, it’s ‘dessert’. After all, which child can resist the lure of sweet, creamy, gooey mouth-watering treats! And every once in a while, we like to indulge the kids (and ourselves), with some great home-made desserts. To help you get started, we’ve put together a bunch of our favourite quick and easy-to-make dessert recipes. So go ahead and treat yourselves to these delectable delights!

There’s nothing like some warm, soft banana bread at tea-time.

FLUFFY BANANA BLOCK

• 4 eggs
• 200 gms unsalted butter
• 165 gms all-purpose flour (maida)
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp baking soda
• Few drops of vanilla essence
• 200 gms sugar
• 2-3 bananas

Beat the egg whites until u get a medium peak. Next, beat butter and sugar together, keep adding egg yolks, and slowly fold in the flour, egg whites, baking powder and soda, in that order. Lastly, add mashed bananas. Bake at 180° C for 35-40 minutes.

GOOEY CHOCOLATE BROWNIES

• ¼ slab of butter
• 4 tbsp cocoa
• 1 ½ cups sugar
• 3 eggs (beaten)
• ½ tsp vanilla essence
• 2 cups all-purpose flour

Melt the butter in a deep pan on the stove. Add the cocoa and let it melt. Once it melts, take it off the stove and add the sugar while hot. Mix till the sugar dissolves. Add the beaten eggs and fold in. Add the vanilla essence and the flour and keep mixing as you go along. Butter a baking tray and add your mixture to it. Bake it in the oven for 30-40 minutes.

Brace yourself for some chocolatey goodness.

Rich, creamy, and simply heavenly.

VELVETY STRAWBERRY MOUSSE

• 4 cups of fresh strawberries
• 2 ½ tbsp strawberry gelatine
• ½ cup boiling water
• ¼ cup sugar
• 2 cups heavy cream
• Whipped cream

Wash and hull strawberries. Bring them to a smooth pulp in the blender. Put the gelatine and sugar in a large bowl and pour the boiling water over it. Mix until it dissolves. Add the strawberries to this mixture and stir well. If the mixture is still warm, cool it for a while. Separately, whip the heavy cream until you get stiff peaks. Then, fold it into the strawberry mix and blend well. Refrigerate the bowl for a couple of hours.
